Dr. Phillip Ashiku is a graduate from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry (one of the most recognized dental schools in the country) and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1987. He has completed advanced training in implant dentistry through the Bicon® Implant Institute in Boston, and to keep up on his dental education and stay at the forefront of dentistry, he continues regular annual training.Dr. Ashiku is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association® and the International Congress of Implantologists. As a dentist, he is dedicated to providing the best possible quality care with the latest techniques in the most comfortable environment possible.Having practiced in the Ukiah area for over 32 years, Dr. Ashiku makes his patients’ treatment goals his priority, providing personal care and making his patients feel like family. He believes that strong communities are built on community involvement, having served for over 10 years in public service. He previously offered his services as the Mayor of the City of Ukiah, Planning Commissioner, Redevelopment Chairman, and as a Redwood Empire Dental Society Board Member.
Dr. Ashiku and his wife have been married for over 13 years. They have three beautiful children, two daughters and one son. Outside of the office, Dr. Ashiku is a pilot and enjoys restoring and flying airplanes. His other hobbies include fishing and camping, but the most important and rewarding activity for him is spending time with his family.
Dr. Ashiku is a graduate of Lone Mountain College where she majored in biology and minored in art. She earned her DDS at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 1978. She has been providing dental treatments in our area since 1979. Dr. Ashiku constantly augments her knowledge and skills through continuing education and has advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, TMJ treatments and CAD/CAM dental crown fabrication. She is a member of the American Dental Association®, the California Dental Association and the Redwood Empire Dental Society. She was previously a long-term member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. As a dentist, she strives to provide technical excellence and quality communication with her patients.Dr. Ashiku and her husband Kevin Orr have one son, Travis. In her spare time, she enjoys fine art acrylic and oil painting.
Dr. Mark Ashiku completed his undergraduate studies at Lone Mountain College in San Francisco. He then attended the University of the Pacific Dental School (also known as the Arthur A. Dugoni Dental School), from which he graduated in 1981. He continues to pursue additional training regularly, and has completed advanced training in Bicon® implant surgical training, gnathology, orthodontics and orthopedics in dentistry. His training is primarily focused towards gnathology, which is the study of the masticatory system, including the physiology of the system, functional issues which can develop and treatment of those issues. Dr. Ashiku began his practice by joining his sister in Ukiah in 1981.Dr. Ashiku is married with two children. His wife is an artist and an inspiration to him. His eldest daughter is a bookkeeper and a mother of two, and his youngest daughter is a dental hygienist and a mother of one.Dr. Ashiku grew up milking cows, raising livestock, bucking hay, mending fences and repairing farm equipment in our small logging community of Anderson Valley. He learned how to fly planes and obtained his private pilot license at Anderson Valley High School. Aviation continues to be one of his passions. His hobbies include restoring aircraft and building experimental aircraft with his brother, Phillip, fishing, woodworking and painting with his wife. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.In addition to serving the Ukiah community as a dentist, Dr. Ashiku is a former Mayor of the City of Ukiah, a former Chairman of the Airport Commission, a former Redwood Empire Dental Association board member and a current Airport Commission Member.
